The purpose of the HIV Web Study Pre-Post Assessment Tool, designed by the Northwest AIDS Education and Training Center and the University of Washington, is to help HIV education and training programs identify areas of strengths and weaknesses in their curriculum; and if the pre-post assessment is repeated, to monitor the overall impact of the program's HIV education efforts.
As an assessment and quality improvement tool, users answer specific questions to test their HIV knowledge; responses are scored then aggregated into a master score for the program cohort. Aggregated master scores will be broken down by HIV content area and question difficulty and provided to the program director/leader; a breakdown by specific questions will not be provided.
Individual user scores will NOT be released to the program director/leaders unless a user explicitly grants permission prior to starting the pre- and/or post assessment by checking the permission box during the sign-in process, or the trainee gives written permission. If a user gives permission for scores to be viewed, we recommend that the program director/leader review the composite pre-post assessment scores after the user has completed the last assessment.
The Northwest AIDS Education and Training Center and University of Washington emphasize that the HIV Web Study Pre-Post Assessment Tool is NOT to be used as a grading or performance tool of individual trainees.
