Professional Credit for NHC Self Study Lessons and Question Bank Topics
The yellow Continuing Education box on the overview page of an activity will specify the 3-year CE accreditation period and the amount and type of CE available. 1.0 CE means someone can complete the activity within one hour. The Continuing Education box also includes and tracks the steps needed to acquire CE for each activity. Any step which is shaded and has a check mark is completed. Learners must be signed in to the NHC to earn CE. To earn CE:
- Read a Self Study lesson or Question Bank topic;
- Correctly answer 80% of the lesson quiz or the Question Bank topic;
- Complete and submit the survey;
- Print or save CE transcript.
Transcript Access
Once a learner submits a survey, their NHC progress tracker is updated and completion data (activity number, learner profession, and email address) is submitted to the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Marnix E. Heersink School of Medicine. The first CE submission automatically creates an UAB account if the learner doesn’t have one.
If a learner did not create their UAB account, the learner must complete the following steps to view or download their transcript:
- Visit UAB website and click “Sign in with your Email and Password”
- Click “Forgot Your Password”
- Enter the email address used on the NHC
- Follow the instructions to reset the password and enter the required UAB profile information.*
- After the password is reset, hover over “My CME” in the top navigation bar and select “Transcript” from the drop-down menu.
- As needed, use the optional “Filter by Date” and “Filter by Credit Type(s)” to meet licensing or certification requirements.
*Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians must enter their National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) e-Profile ID in the “Credentials” section and date of birth so CPE contact hours and IPCE credits can be routed to CPE Monitor.
